Here are the key weather messages through the weekend.
- A wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet is expected across the Lehigh Valley, southern Poconos, and NW NJ late tonight into Saturday morning. See the attached forecast ice accumulations. We h ave also attached the onset of wintry precipitation graphic. Please note that this is the approximate forecast time that rain will change over to a wintry mix.
- Across the region (even areas that don't get a wintry mix) icy conditions will be possible Saturday morning. Temperatures will drop off quickly Saturday morning; any standing water could freeze.
- There remains a potential for heavy rain leading to localized flooding in poor drainage areas today into this evening.
- The threat for damaging winds has diminished this morning. However gusts to 35 mph will be possible through the day.
